'Nikunj' means 'a covering of creepers

The portals of Bhagavatha Bhavanam was decorated
with colourful and fragrant flowers to mark the occasion. A big 'kolam'
of flowers decorated the center floor of the portico while the 'Oonjal'(swing)
hung over it. The 'Oonjal' was entirely covered with sweet smelling jasmine
flowers. A screen of 'kanakambaram'(an orange tropical flower) and jasmine flowers
hung on its(Oonjal's) three sides creating a 'Nikunj' for our Swamigal's
puja murthy Madhuri Sakhi - Premika Varadan.

Sri Swamigal sat on the southern corner of
the portals of Bhagavatha Bhavanam(in a corner of the 'Nikunj' that
had been created) and just outside the 'Nikunj' a stage had
been set for the carnatic music-vocal-concert of Sri Sriram Parthasarathy.
The young upcoming artiste, disciple of Sri
Neyveli Santhanagopalan captivated the hearts of music lovers with his
rich voice and music. He began the concert with
Pranams to the Guru - "Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnuh...." and held the audience
