This annual visit of Sri Swamigal is
looked forward to by the village. At each door huge Kolams
had been drawn. Sri Swamigal stopped at every door and
accepted their loving 'Paada Puja'. An affectionate smile
on the lips, Sri Swamigal's eyes moved restlessly trying to
'catch' sight of as many 'jivas' as possible to bless them
('Karuna Kadaksham'). Sri Swamigal wore numerous colourful,
sweet smelling garlands around His neck offered with deep
affection by the villagers. The villagers - men, women and
children - fell at His Lotus feet to receive His blessings.
|
|
The young male devotees of Sri Swamigal
danced around Him singing Namaavalis loudly. Madhuri Sakhi -
Premika Varadan followed at a distance. The villagers offered
camphor and coconut to this puja murthy of Sri Swamigal. A
local villager guided Sri Swamigal and His devotees around
the streets of the Village. Sri Swamigal had a word to say
or enquire of everyone in the village!
|
|
|
The little ones of the village rushed
along trying to keep pace with Sri Swamigal's long and quick
strides. A little boy of the village managed to squeeze in
beside Sri Swamigal who took his hand. The little one's joy
was conspicuous as he whispered to his friends proudly,
"Sami en kaiyai pidichukittarda!(Swami held my hand)".
'Uriadi' was played by the village youths.
Sri Swamigal requested Sri Jnana Guru Bhagavathar to do
'anukaranam'(enact)of songs for the benefit of the villagers.
