Daily Evening Events

After partaking the Anna Prasadam and a brief rest, devotees gather again in the prayer hall for chanting:

HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE

for two hours. With the rhythmic and gentle clanging of cymbals accompanied by drums (Dholki), this "Hare Rama..." chanting is a regular event in all utsavams.

Sri Swamigal is so much attached to this Chanting, that he once said to a devotee - who asked him, how he can be of service him, that chanting "Hare Rama..." in one's home alone or with Family members and friends daily is the best service one can do to Sri Swamigal!

In the evening, devotees reassemble for the Pravachanam (Lecture on Bhagavatham). Sri Swamigal in his Gospel had said that Bhagavatham is far greater than other Puranas and epics as this contains the life histories of Great devotees of Lord, which cannot fail to inspire the devotee to plunge deeper into his Bhakthi Sadhana.

The Bhagavatha Pravachanam is followed by Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam and the wonderful verses of Athma Nivedanam.

By this time our Lord would be ready, mounted on the day's Vahanam ('vehicle', like Elephant or Horse or Lion) all set to go for the evening procession. With Bhaghavathas singing his glory, accompanied by His devotees, the Lord comes out of Madhurapuri and visits the nearby Villages. The Villagers consider Sri Premika Varadan as their own and decorate the streets with Kolams , welcoming the LORD warmly with devotion and love.

The Lord returns to Madhurapuri, and gets ready to witness the Divya Nama Kirtanam in the Late evening. The young devotees enthusiastically participate with the Bhagvathars in the Divyanama Sankirtanam.
