Brahmotsavam
Day 10: Radha Kalyanam

..And the Wedding day arrived. Bhagavathars had already started Jayadevar's Ashtapathi, a day earlier and had sung till the 22nd Ashtapathi.

In the morning, Bhagavathar took "Uncha Vriththi", (the traditional way of collecting rice from Householders, singing the glories of the Lord). Sri Swamigal accompanied the Bhagavathar. The Uncha Vriththi started with the wonderful tarangam "Rama Krishna Govindethi.." and after a brief walk on the Mahanyam road, the troupe returned to the Ashram, with women saluting the bhagavathar and offering him Rice.

Ashtapathi Bhajan commenced after Todaya mangalam and Guru Keertanams. A large number of Bhagavathars graced the occasion. The hall packed to the brim. With Lagnastakam and Mangalya Dharanam, the Radha Kalyanam was celebrated grandly.

The Divine Couple...

Teppam

During the late hours of the evening the Lord and his consort were led to the Ashram pond, where a nicely decorated floating platform was waiting for them.

The pond was decorated with lamps and flowers. The fragranace of the incense sticks filled the cool night air. Sri Swamigal placed the couple on the platform and took them around the pond. Many local villagers came to see this gala event. Bhagavathar sung some traditional kirthans extolling the divine love of Radha and Krishna.

After an hour or so, Sri Swamigal took the couple back to the hall and the day ended with Dolotsavam. It was yet another memorable evening.
