News April 1, 2007 - April 6, 2007 In the august presence of Sri Sri Swamiji, Sri V. Swaminatha Athreyar discoursed on 'Sri Janaki Vijayam' at Premika Bhavanam, Chennai. Hundreds of devotees participated in this function and chanted the Maha Mantra April 7, 2007 - Kadalur Sri Sri Swamiji discoursed about the 'Glory of Bhagavan Naama' from 7 - 9 pm at the Sri Raghavendra Vrindavan, Koothapakkam, Kadalur. April 9, 2007 – Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram More than 1200 devotees participated in the mass prayer meeting held in the august presence of Sri Sri Swamiji at Sivagnanam Chettiar Kalyana Mahal in Paramakudi. Sri Sri Swamiji performed Naama Sankirtan and blessed the devotees with a discourse on the 'Glory of Bhagavan Naama'. Sri. Suresh, Sri Andrews and the Paramakudi devotees took care of the arrangements for the prayer meeting. April 10, 2007 - Genguvaarpatti In the presence of Sri Sri Swamiji Mahamantra Naamasankirtan mass prayer took place at Genguvarpatti. When Sri Sri Swamiji visited the neighbouring villages of Genguvarpatti performing street bhajan of the Mahamantra a lot of people joined in the Naama sankirtan with enthusiasm. The program took place at Sri Rama temple and was organised deftly by Sri. Vinod, Sri. Gopala Krishnan and the devotees. April 11, 12, 2007 - Periyakulam A mass prayer meeting organised by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Naama Bhiksha Kendra was held in Sri Sri Swamiji's presence at Periyakulam Thenkarai N. S. N. Rathnavel Saraswati Marriage Hall. Mahamantra Naamakirtan was performed from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. About 1200 people participated in the prayer meeting. The program arrangements were taken care of by Periyakulam Sri. Hare Rama R. Krishnakumar and devotees. April 13, 14, 2007 - Thallakulam, Madurai. A mass prayer meeting was conducted in Sri Sri Swamiji's presence at Lakshmi Sundaram Hall, Gokhale Road. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Naama Bhiksha Kendra composed a book consisting the collection of 'Sanatha Pudhir' articles that were published in the Madhuramurali magazine. The book was released in the presence of Sri Sri Swamiji by Sri Sri Sundarananda Saraswati Swamigal, the head of 'The Divine Life Society'. Thousands of devotees from in and around Madurai gathered at the prayer meeting just to hear Sri Sri Swamiji's address. April 15, 2007 - Manimangalam Sri Sri Swamiji participated in the Periyar Infant School's 25th anniversary celebrations at Manimangalam, distributed prizes to the students and blessed them with His address. The program took place on Tamil New Year's Day and Sri Sri Swamiji's darshan left all the participants of the prayer meeting feeling blessed and elated. The program arrangements were taken care of by Madurai Sri. Ramanujadasan and the Madurai satsang devotees.
April 15, 2007 - April 22, 2007
A Udhayaasthamana Bhaagavata Sapthaham took place in the presence of Sri Sri Swamiji at Bhaagavata Bhavanam, Mathurapuri Ashram to commemorate the first death anniversary of Smt. Jeyanthi Janakiraman, an ardent devotee and founder of Premika Bhavanam, Chennai who attained the Lotus feet of Sri Guruji. The Moola paarayana was performed by BrahmaSri Srikanth Bhagavata, BrahmaSri Mallikarjuna Sarma, BrahmaSri Chandrasekara Bhagavata and Tiruchur Sri Krishnayyar. Srimad Bhaagavatam was also discoursed along with the paarayana. A lot of devotees participated in the Paarayana. The paarayana and discourse commenced at 6:30 a.m. every morning and ended at 6:30 p.m. every evening on all seven days. This was followed by bhajan and Divya Naama Sankirtan by bhaagavatas. The day ended with Dolotsav performed to 'Premika Varadan - Madhuri Sakhi'. Hundreds of devotees participated with zeal in the paarayana and pravachana.
Highlights:
April 18, 2007 - During Abhang Bhajan, Sri Gnanaichvaram performed Sankirtana Upanyas on the Glory of Panduranga Bhaktas.
April 19, 2007 - Around 12:00 p.m. while Krishna Jananam was being rendered, the skies darkened all of a sudden, lightning struck and heavy rains poured out the skies filling the hearts of devotees with joy. This exemplified the 'sannidhya' of Mathurapuri and the Grace of Sri Sri Guruji. Tatvamasi Ganapadigal, expounded the 'Ambarisha Charitra' with Veda and Bhaagavata slokas in a very enjoyable manner. In the 'Hare Rama..' Mahamantra Divya Nama Sankirtan performed at night Sri Sri Swamiji danced gracefully with outstreched hands to the kirtan of the divine name and delighted all the gathered devotees.
April 20, 2007 - Sri Chandru discoursed on Lord Krishna's childhood lilas in a witty manner. Being 'Akshaya Tritiyai' Abhang Divya Nama Sankirtan was performed at night. Sri Sri Swamiji blissfully chanted and performed kirtan of the sole naama of Panduranga. While rendering 'Madhye Pundaleeka Uba' Sri Swamiji stood like a statue in Panduranga bhava for a few minutes and blessed the gathered devotees with the darshan. It was remarkable that the day was 'Panduranga Jayanthi'.
Sri Srikanth Sarma discourses on the wedding of Sri Krishna's queens, the conversation between Rukmini and Sri Krishna, Sudama Charithra was a treat to the ears. On the final day, Sri Sri Swamiji performed special thirumanjanam to Sri Premika Varadan - Madhuri Sakhi and blessed everyone with thirtha prasad. Sri Swamiji offered 'tambulam' bag to everyone and made the sapthaham very special. All devotees left the Ashram with heavy hearts as the blissful sapthaham came to an end.
Isn't it obvious that the devotees who participated in the sapthaham were the receipients of the boundless Grace of God and Guruji! April 7, 2007 - Maharanyam On behalf of Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Trust, Sri. Balaji offered Geometry box, Atlas, English-Tamil Dictionary to fifth standard students at the Maharanyam school. May 1, 2007 - Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Trust Patasala's 12th anniversary Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Trust Patasala's 12th anniversary was celebrated at the Mathurapuri Ashram, Maharanyam. Reciting Vedas, chanting Gita, speech competition in sanskrit took place during the function. Parents of the patasala students, patasala teachers, the chief of the patasala participated in the function. 'Guru Kainkarya Rathnam' Sri. D. Deenadayalan(M/s Vijay Associates, Builders & Flat Promoters, Chennai) presided over as the chief guest and awarded the students with prizes. May 2, 2007 - Chaitanya Naama Bhiksha Kendra, Salem branch The Salem branch of Chaitanya Naama Bhiksha Kendra was inaugurated by the lighting of 'Kuthu Vilakku' by Sri Sri Swamiji's at around 7:00 a.m. at Sri Venkatraman - Smt Sheela house. Tuticorin K. Kathiresan and Salem Sri. Karunakaran the office bearers for the southern states were present during the inauguration ceremony.
