The Master's Mantra

Sri Sri Swamiji -

  • Sri Sri Swamiji:
"The positive changes in your life is directly proportional to the amount of Maha Mantra Kirtan you perform."

Sri Sri Swamiji's Song:

The Translation:

(sung in the tune of ‘Brindavanamum Nandakumaaranum’)

Look within! Look within!
Look within! Oh, My dear!
If you are unable to (look within)
Look! Look! Look at Krishna without!

Speak not! Speak not!
Speak not! Oh, My dear!
If you are unable to
Speak then always about Krishna!

Eat not! Eat not!
Eat not! Oh, My dear!
If you are unable to
Eat then the remains of Krishna’s food!

Hear not! Hear not!
Hear not! Oh, My dear!
If you are unable to
Hear then always Krishna’s Lila!

Loiter not! Loiter not!
Loiter not! Oh, My dear!
If you desire to
Go then to Krishna’s Temple!

This is the only way! This is the only way!
This is the only way! Oh, My dear!
Be alert! do not fail
And, embrace liberation!

The Paduka

Sri Sri Swamiji's Paduka

Sriman Nigamãntha Desikan, a great Vaishnava Saint lived from mid-thirteenth to mid-fourteenth century- 1268-1369. Of the innumerable 'Granthas' (texts) written by Him the highly revered and considered as the most extraordinary piece is His "Pãduka Sahasram" - a thousand verses on the 'Pãduka' of Lord Ranganãtha. The Saint has in all composed 1008 verses, the last eight apologizing in all humility for daring to compose these 1000 verses on the Pãduka!

Sri Desikan's contemporary Sri Appayya Dikshitar had written a commentary on the "Pãduka Sahasram" but unfortunately it has been lost.

Avadheerita Sãdhu padhateenãm
alasãnãm madhuvairi Pãduke dve!

Oh! Twin-Paduke!
   You two together guiding us
   appears to illustrate to us,
   who have
forsaken the ways of Sadhus and are also lazy,
   the need for both
   Divine Grace and human effort!

“ Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare!
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare !"
