Ongole News:

Inauguration of Namadwaar at Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, S.India

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji inaugurated the Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nama Bhiksha Kendra, Namadwaar, at Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, S.India, on 31st January, 2007.

Hundreds of devotees participated in this function and chanted the Maha Mantra

“Hare Rama Hare Rama! Rama Rama Hare Hare!
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare!”

in the Presence of Sri Sri Swamiji.

The inaugural function commenced with an introduction of the Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nama Bhiksha Kendra by Sri M. K. Ramanujam followed by the chanting of the Vedas by Sri Raghavendra Ganapaadi, the instructor at Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Seva Trust (AP) and Sri Pavan.

Sri Ravichandran, Trustee, Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Seva Trust (AP) read the welcome address and Smt. Srilata Ravichandran spoke on the activities of the Kendra.

Sri Sri Swamiji spoke on the glory of the Divine Name of the Lord (Bhagavan Naama) and the reason behind the opening of Namadwaar at Ongole. Sri Sri Swamiji then performed kirtan of the Mahamantra along with the devotees. Sri Ravichandran, Smt. Srilata Ravichandran and Sri Balaraman have taken charge of this Namadwaar at Ongole.

Sri Sri Swamiji visited the ‘Panchamukha’ Hanuman Temple on the 1st February, 2007 and had darshan. The same evening street bhajan was conducted in a village near Ongole.

The bhajan pass more than 15 main streets of the village and passed through more than 300 homes and terminated at Sri Venugopalaswami Temple in the village. Here, Namasankirtan began around 7 p.m. Sri Sri Swamiji participated in it and later passionately expounded on the greatness of the Divine Name of the Lord (‘Bhagavan Naama’) in Tamizh. This was translated into Telugu by Sri Raghavendra Sarma. Then, Sri Sri Swamiji, Himself, anointed the foreheads of the devotees with ‘gopi chandan’ Tilak and a Tulasimaala around their necks.

The glory of the Divine Name of the Lord and the significance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nama Bhiksha Kendra was expounded. On Febraury 2nd few lady devotees of our Satsang performed Srimad Bhagavata paaraayana. Regular Satsang is now being conducted at Ongole.

2nd February 2007 – Cholingar

Sri Sri Swamiji visited the High School at Cholingar and blessed the students with His benedictory address. Sri Sri Swamiji then visited Sri Subrahmanya swami Temple and blessed the devotees assembled there with His benedictory address. The program arrangements were taken care of by Sri Ravichandran and his family.

8th February 2007 – Pernnaampet

“Hare Rama! Hare Krishna!” Maha Mantra procession was conducted at Pernnaampet, Vellore District, starting from near the bus stand. The initiative for this had been taken by devotee Sri Ramu, an officer of the Tirupati Sri Venkatesa Perumal Temple. This was followed by the benedictory address by Sri Sri Swamiji at Sri Kaamaatchi Amman Temple. Sri Sri Swamiji then participated in the Mahakumbabhishekam of Kannikaparameshwari Temple. ‘Gudiyaattam’ Sri K.E. Maanicka Mudaliar had made the arrangements for this.

11th February 2007 – Vadapudupattu Village

Sri Sri Swamiji visited ‘Jnaanamalai’ Sri Subrahmanya swami Temple at Ambur Cooperative sugar factory, Vadapudupattu Village, near Ambur, Vellore District.

Arrangements for this had been done by Sri Vijayaraghavan and the Temple authorities.

Later, Sri Sri Swamiji blessed devotees at Sri Gajendravaradaraja Peruma Temple at Tirupattur Fort area with His benedictory address. Sri S.P. Mannavaalan, Sri Ramanujam and the Temple authorities had done wonderful arrangements in this regard.

14th February 2007

Headed by Sri K. Palani a warm welcome was given at Waalaaja Nagar, Vellore District, to Sri Sri Swamiji. His Holiness then visited ‘Vetri’ Bhakta Aanjaneyar Temple and blessed the devotees with His benedictory address. Wonderful arrangements had been made by ‘Waalaaja’ Mohandas, Babu, Ramu Bhattaachaarya, Balakrishnan, Srinivasan and the Temple authorities.
