Bangalore Nagara Sankirtanam - A Photo Report

The Bangalore devotees arranged a grand Nagara Sankirtan in the garden town and capital of Karnataka - Bangalore on the 26th of November, 2006. The Nagara Kirtana Procession started from Sri Jambuganapathi Temple in Malleswaram and ended at Sri Venugopala Swami Temple. In the evening, 'Guru Kirtanam' was performed by the devotees of 'Ramakrishna Bhajana Sabha' of Bangalore.

A charriot bedecked with colorful flowers housing a well-decorated beautiful picture of Sri Sri Swamiji stood outside the Jambuganapathi Temple in the afternoon. Sri Sri Swamiji was also verily present there, to grace the thousands of devotees who had gathered.

At 4 pm sharp, Sri Sri Swamiji inaugurated the 'Hare Rama' Maha Mantra Nagara Sankirtanam. Sri Sri Swamiji sang the Maha Mantra continuously for 2 hours and got the deovtees in a mood of divine ecstasy. The procession went through the main streets of Malleswaram.

The roads were blocked and packed with devotees carrying banners and flags and the environment was filled with the sound of the Maha Mantra

It was a divine treat to eyes and ears to see and hear the devotees chant the Maha Mantra enthusiastically.

More captivating was the scene at Sri Venugopala Swami Temple where, as the procession arrived, Sri Sri Swamiji was welcomed by showers of flowers! It indeed seemed like an incessant rain of flowers, trying to match the flooding grace and compassion of Sri Sri Swamiji!

Later, Sri Sri Swamiji delivered a discourse at the Mantap in the temple. He underlined the rich culture and heritage of Sanathana Dharma by talking about our scriptures like Srimad Ramayana and the invaluable lessons they teach humankind. He stressed the importance of Nama Kirtanam in this Kali Yuga and said how Maha Mantra Kirtanam would enrich the lives of people and take them closer to the Lord.

Later, Prasadam was distributed to the devotees.
