'A sojourn into divinity'
('Bhãvalokaththil oru Sanchãram')

(Tamizh Madhuramurali October 2006)

Sri Sri Swamiji speaks here of His Divine experience to show that every action of ours is indeed noticed by the Lord.

“Once, arrangements were being made for the rendition of ‘Yugala shathakam’ as part of ‘Vasantotsav’ in Mathurapuri Ãshram. The entire Ãshram was bedecked with mango leaves, kolam (floor designs with rice flour), etc. At my request, child Krishna’s feet had been drawn on the floor at all places as is usually done for Gokulãshtami festival (celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth).

I returned to Ãshram in the afternoon after attending to some work in Chennai. Upon alighting from the car, I saw, in Bhăgavata Bhavanam, a small child beautifully adorned in silk, with peacock feather on the hair lock, anklets on the feet, a chain around the waist and a golden chain with the tiger nail pendant hanging down the neck, running hither and thither clapping his hands joyously. I accosted the child going nearer only to find that he was none other than our Premika Varadhan (the name of Sri Sri Swamiji’s worshipful Krishna at the Ãshram).

I immediately took the lad on my lap and asked Him caressingly, “Why are you so happy today Premika Varadha?
The child replied, “Today is my Birthday! Gokulãshtami! I will be given ‘Seedai and Murukku’ (savouries prepared in every house for Lord Krishna on Gokulashtami day). That is why I am very happy today.”

I said to him, “Oh, boy! It is not Gokulãshtami today. Gokulãshtami falls only in the (Tamizh) month of Ãvani.
The little boy quipped back, “No, No! My feet ‘markings’ have been drawn on the floor. Are these not drawn only on Gokulãshtami? It is indeed Gokulashtami today.”
I replied, “No, My dear boy! Patterns have been drawn on the floor to mark the beginning of ‘Vasantotsav’.
However, the child asserted that it was the Gokulãshtami day.

I found it extremely difficult to pacify and satisfy the child Krishna. It is only after giving him his choice savories (Seedai and Murukku) that he could be pacified. "
