With the blessings of Bhagawan Yogiramsuratkumar, Satsang is being held in Sri Yogiramsuratkumar Bhajan Mandali in Coronation Colony, Sivakasi. They have been performing Nama Sankirtan for about 25 years.
On November 3rd, Sri Sri Srwamiji came to Sivakasi at about 7:30 am. The director of Coronation Women's High School Mr. Gnanagiri, other teachers and devotees welcomed Sri Sri Swamiji with all due respects. Chanting the Maha Mantra 12 times during the morning prayers has been in vogue in this school since 1990.
In the course of His discourse, Sri Sri Swamiji said that students should aim at destroying negative and unwanted thoughts and inculcating positive and constructive thoughts. Just like the mother and teacher help in strengthening the body and knowledge, spirituality helps in enhancing mental strength. Maha Mantra Kirtan is the best way to achieve that, by doing which we can reap all benefits."
Following this, Sri Sri Swamiji led the Nama Kirtan on the streets in which about 1500 people including devotees, teachers and students participated. The procession went throught hte main streets and ended at Sadguru Yogiramsuratkumar Bhajan Mandali. Sri Sri Swamiji blessed everyone standing in front of the Mandali building.
Sri Sri Swamiji participated in the Nama Kirtan and blessed them with His talk. He said, "Maha Mantra Kirtan should echo among everyone transcending the differences of caste, creed and religion. This is the only path to follow in this Age of Kali." He added, "It would do great good if some one from the Mandali went and performed Nama Kirtan at marriages, last rites and other functions.
Mrs. Uma Surendran, Mrs. Vasuki Jayaraj and other devotees had made arrangements. Later Sri Sri Swamiji visited devotees' homes and other industrial organizations.
Sri Sri Swamiji participated in the Nagara Sankirtan in front of the Siva Temple in 'Nama Muthu Nagar' Tutucorin at about 7:30 pm on the 17th instant. About 800 people participated in the procession. Sri Sri Swamiji delivered His discourse in the percincts of the Siva Temple. Later he visited the Vivekananda Kendra there.
On 18th at 6:00 pm, Sri Sri Swamiji took part in the Nama Kirtan held at Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji House in Tutucorin. He then discoursed on Srimad Bhagavatam, which was attended by more than hundred devotees.
On 19th, Sri Sri Swamiji continued the discourse on Srimad Bhagavatam from 11 am to 1:00 pm.
5:00 - 7:00 pm: Sri Sri Swamiji participated in the 'Maha Mantra Prayer Meeting for people's welfare' held at the Town Hall in Tutucorin. About 1000 devotees participated in this function. Later the devotees spoke about the benefits they reaped by chanting the Maha Mantra. Then Sri Sri Swamiji talked about the power of prayers following which the prayer and Nama Kirtan was performed. Sri Sri Swamiji blessed everyone who took part in the Nama Kirtan with prasad.
Sri Kadiresan and other devotees were in charge of all the arrangements.
Maha Mantra Nagara Sangirtan was conducted in Cheranmahadevi on 19th November from 7.00 a.m to 9.30 a.m. The procession started from Sri Ramaswamy temple and passed though all the streets and lanes of the Cheranmahadevi village.
The people of Cheranmahadevi were a standing witness to the wonders that Nama can do. As the procession went on, the villagers were blessed with the darshan of Sri Sri Swamiji as he joined the procession mid way.hroughout the procession, in which hundreds of villagers participated, Sri Sri Swamiji raised his hands and swayed to the tunes of the Maha Mantra. The Nama drew all those locked in their houses to the streets. The whole village was drowned with Nama Kirtan.
Towards the end, Sri Sri Swamiji rendered a discourse in Sri Ramaswamy Temple on "The greatness of the Divine Name". Sri Sri Swamiji proclaimed very strongly that Nama Kirtan done with devotion will give everything that one prays for!
The function was organized by Cheranmahadevi Nama Bhakta Sabha members Ambai Ramanan, Vikramasingapuram Murugesan and others.
