Title: “Sri Gurukrupa Vilãsam”
The new edition of “Sri Guru krupa Vilãsam” published by the devotees of Sringeri Sri Sãradha Peetam comprises of two volumes. It was written by Sri Gnãnãnandha Bhãrati Swamigal. Both these books are a collection of essays that speak volumes about the divine powers of Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekarendra Bhãrati Mahã Swamigal. There is no doubt that this book would motivate a spiritual Sãdhak in his Sãdhanãs. Let us see an interesting incident cited in one of these volumes: Once, a person loses his ornaments. In deep grief, he comes unto the Ãchãrya. Giving upadesa of a particular mantra, the Ãchãrya asks him to chant it a thousand and eight times, and says that, after doing such a japa, follow the first person you see on the street. Where ever he goes, follow him untiringly. In the same way, this person performs the japa of the mantra a thousand and eight times, and when complete, notices someone on the street. He follows the latter for a long distance. Finally, he ends up in an open field, and unearths the jewels that he had buried. This person’s joy knew no bounds when he discovers that all the ornaments are his and he happily returns home getting the jewels. This incident clearly illustrates the divine power in the mantras prescribed in our Veda Shãstrãs. One cannot but be stunned by the fruits that these mantras bear, when received as upadesa from such a Mahãtma.
