Chaitanya Mahãprabhu (53) Nityãnanda said, "Prabhu! They are the followers of 'Vãma Mãrga'. Wine is what is called as Ãnanda in their language." When Prabhu heard this, he got very upset and he looked around anxiously as if surrounded by fierce lions. By then, the ladies called the Sanyãsi and he too went in. Considering the moment to be a very opportune one, Prabhu took to his heels. Nitãyi followed suite. Seeing the two run leaving their plates half-eaten, the sanyãsi too followed them for a distance. Prabhu jumped into the Ganges and swam towards Shãntipur swiftly. Does the fish require any training to swim? Nitãyi too followed Prabhu. Even before reaching the other shore, Prabhu went into 'Bhãva Samãdhi'. After reaching the shore, he walked straight to Advaitãchãrya's house. Seeing Prabhu coming towards the house, Haridãs prostrated. But Prabhu was not conscious of anything. He went straight to Advaitãchãrya and said, "So you have started talking of dry Vedãnta and Jnãna, is it?" To which Ãcharya replied, "How can knowledge be dry? The path of knowledge is indeed the best. Devotion is meant only for women." As soon as Prabhu heard these words of Advaitãchãrya, Prabhu started beating him. Everybody watched this 'lila' dumbstruck. No one dared to stop Prabhu. Prabhu, totally unconcerned of the Ãcharya's age, was beating him fiercely on his back. With each stroke, Advaitãchãrya's joy too increased. His face showed in no way any signs of pain or sorrow. His joy indeed seemed to be crossing bounds! Hearing the sound of beating, Ãcharya's wife came from within. Finding Prabhu beating Ãcharya, she got frightened and prayed piteously, "Prabhu! What are you doing! Please be compassionate on him!" But Prabhu was not hearing any one. Ãcharya was dancing in joy singing aloud the glories of Prabhu. To be continued...
