A Story for the Children Once there lived in a village, a body builder called Ramaswamy. He daily exercised in the terrace of his house. His strong build, height, looks and his thick moustache created fear in everyone. In the same village lived another person, Krishnaswamy, who sincerely visited the temple and worshipped the Lord everyday. On his way to the temple he had to pass Ramaswamy's house. He feared the body-builder. Whenever he used to pass Ramaswamy's house, he would always look up to see if Ramaswamy was in the terrace. He would get frightened once he spotted Ramaswamy. He would immediately close his eyes and start murmuring the Lord's names until he passed his house. Incidentally, Ramaswamy noticed this. Then on, he started observing Krishnaswamy everyday. He was confused as to why Krishnaswamy not only closed his eyes whenever he passed his house but also murmured something. He began to fear that Krishnaswamy was casting some spell on him. One day, the body-builder invited Krishnaswamy in and fell at his feet. He begged of Krishnaswamy, I am afraid you are casting some spell on me. Please don't do any such thing!" This is the nature of the world. Ramaswamy feared Krishnaswamy; and Krishnaswamy feared Ramaswamy. The animals attack humans fearing that they would harm them. Similarly, we attack the animals thinking that they would harm us. Only when true love grows in our hearts will this fear fade away. -Sri Sri Swamiji
