Chaitanya Mahãprabhu (49) After the redemption of Jagayi and Madhayi, Mahaprabhu renounced all his activities and started living at Srivas Pundit’s house doing Naamasankirtan. He enacted all the Lilas of Srimad Bhagavatam along with his devotees. He allotted a role to each one of them and taking a role for himself, enacted all the Lilas with great emotion. Once Mahaprabhu took up the role of the enchantress of the whole world, Sri Lakshmi. Partitioning his hair in the center, the devotees combed and braided his hair and decorated it with fragrant flowers. Already glowing with a golden hue, Prabhu shone that day with an inexplicable radiance with all the beautiful decorations. Even as he was getting decorated, Prabhu entered into a state of ‘Bhava’ that he was Rukmini herself. Soon he felt the pain caused due to the separation from Krishna and started writing with his nails the slokas “Srutva gunaan Bhuvanasundara…” from Bhagavata recited by Rukmini. A little later, after his Bhava subsided, he went on to the stage with Nityananda. Seeing the wonderful and beautiful form of Prabhu, the devotees enjoyed it with surprise with their mouths open. All of them saw Prabhu as Seetha, Rasaviharini Radha, Lakshmi and as Parvathi. Their hearts were filled with emotions of motherly affection. No other thought crossed their minds. Prabhu sang and danced in the ‘Lakshmi’ Bhava. His voice, sweeter than that of a cuckoo, his divine (non-worldly) dance and graceful foot movements enthralled everybody. Everybody’s eyes welled up with tears. The lady devotees too watched him without blinking and became ecstatic. Once, Prabhu called Murari Gupta as “Garuda! Garuda!” when he was in the Vishnu Bhava. Soon Murari Gupta spread out his upper cloth on both sides of his shoulders like wings and carrying Prabhu on his shoulders he began moving around the courtyard. That day Prabhu bestowed on his devotees his vision as Lord Narayana with four arms holding a conch, discus, mace and Lotus flower in each and seated in Garuda. The devotees danced out of extreme joy. Ladies like Shachi Mata and Malati Devi got frightened indeed. Within a short time, Prabhu regained outer-consciousness. Soon he got down from the stage. To be continued...
