A Story for the Children Once upon a time, a learned man was appointed as the scholar of the kingdom by the king. The king held high regard for the scholar. Once, while the king sent for this scholar urgently, the attendant of the scholar was not in town. The scholar needed his attendant to accompany him to the palace. Not knowing what could be done he was looking out into the street when he saw a boy pass by. The boy was totally unqualified to be the attendant of the scholar. However in order to handle the situation, the scholar adorned the boy with respectable attire and took him along to the palace as his attendant. On their way to the palace, the scholar gave various instructions to the boy on how to conduct himself in the palace. The boy had never seen the palace. The very sight of palace thrilled him and his joy knew no bounds when he saw the king majestically decorating the throne! He could not trust his eyes! He was wondering if it was all a dream! While he was thus wondering, the next miracle happened! The king welcomed the scholar first and then the boy! While starting from the palace, the king honored the scholar and also the boy who accompanied him. The king neither questioned the scholar who this boy was nor was he bothered about his qualifications to be an attendant! Just because the boy had accompanied the scholar who was well known to the king the boy also received honor at the hands of the king. Children! Similarly, if we catch hold of a Guru who has seen God and can speak to Him God will grace us, irrespective of our qualification, for the mere reason of being the disciples of this Guru!
