Script from Scriptures (41) The sons of Rishabha Yogi - Kavi, Hari, Anthariksha, Prabuddha, Pippalãyana, Ãvirhotra, Drumila, Chamsa and Karabhãjana (also called as Navayogis) - who were great devotees, at the sacrifice conducted by the King Nimi - The King Nimi said, “Please expound in detail the various incarnations of the Lord in the past and those that are yet to occur in future.” The king then addressed the sages – “Oh! Enlightened Ones! What is the fate of those who are immersed in worldly pleasures forgetting the lotus feet of the Lord?” The sage Chamasa replied, “The four Ãshramas and four Varnãs ( Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vyasa & Sudra ) originated from the face, arms, thighs and feet respectively of the Supreme Person. The people of each Varna are distinguished on the basis of the dominance of Nature’s disposition (Guna). The quality of Sattva is dominant in Brahmana, Rajas in combination with Sattva in Kshatriya, Rajas in combination with Tamas in Vysya and Tamas in Sudra. Though blessed with a birth in noble lineage, those of them who do not adore the Supreme Lord or despise Him out of pride and ego, fall down from the high place in evolution that they have attained. But ignorant persons like women and Sudra, who have no way of hearing about the qualities and Divine Names of the Lord, are to be pitied by personage like you. Carried away by the panegyric words of the Vedas concerning rituals and heavenly felicities to be acquired through them, there are Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vysyas who though fully qualified to the adore Sri Hari, fail to do so. Though without real skill in Karma, which consists in performing them without being bound by them, these pseudo-scholars are too proud and vicious even to make enquiry of knowing ones about these matters. Owing to the dominance of Rajas, their resolutions are of a cruel nature. Given to sexuality, these people of sinful nature criticize the devotees who are so dear to Achyuta. Women are their deities. Their homes are for them abodes for lustful satisfaction. Further they make a mere show of doing sacrifices, but these are done without proper procedure, gift or dakshinas ( sacrifical presents ). Unaware of the sin incurred in a slaughter, they kill animals merely for their own sense gratification. Blinded by power and wealth they heap insults on the Lord." To be continued……….
