The Translation:
How are we concerned about what birth we may take!
Now that we are in the company the Lord of Ãndal !
Be it the incomparable and noble birth as a Human being!
Or be it the birth as a lowly creature!
(How are we concerned about what birth we may take!
Now that we are in the company the Lord of Ãndal !)
The mere touch of the sand found in the Feet of the Bhagavatas
Ensures us a place in the permanent abode of the Lord!
Oh! There is indeed no need for any Sãdhana(effort)!
Stay free from any worries!
Listen! The words of Muralidhara are indeed absolutely true!
(How are we concerned about what birth we may take!
Now that we are in the company the Lord of Ãndal !)

The Paduka
Sriman Nigamantha Desikan, a great Vaishnava Saint lived from
mid-thirteenth to mid-fourteenth century- 1268-1369. Of the innumerable
'Granthas' (texts) written by Him
the highly revered and considered as the most extraordinary piece is His
"Paduka Sahasram" - a thousand verses on the 'Paduka' of Lord Ranganatha.
The Saint has in all composed 1008 verses, the last eight apologizing
in all humility for daring to compose these 1000 verses on the Paduka!
Sri Desikan's contemporary Sri Appayya Dikshitar had written a
commentary on the "Paduka Sahasram" but unfortunately it has been lost.

Oh! Paduke!
Whenever the Lord places His Feet on You
For a sportive walk
You,
At once, send arrays of rays in all directions
That, it seems
As if all the palatial mansions are preparing
With flags and festoons
To welcome the Lord!
