The Master's Mantra
Sri Swamiji -
Just as listening to one who speaks superfluous worldly things is wrong, so too is not listening to one who speaks
healthy spiritual matters is wrong. God has bestowed on us the power of speech that no other living being
has been blessed with, just so that we will constantly talk about Him and attain Him.

The Translation:
Pallavi
Oh! Krishna! Know this to be the right moment!
And shower Your Grace on me!
Charanam
When the Lord of rains (Indra) poured incessantly (in Gokula)
You indeed lifted the Govardana hill!
And protected (the cowherds of Gokula)!
When Paanchali cried for help to You with folded hands!
Did you not give her robes that very moment?
And end her misery!
In the past
You did assume the form of Man-Lion
Just to protect the prattle of a child!
Though uncalled!
When an elephant praised you offering a lotus flower
Did you not offer refuge by killing the crocodile!
(That harmed it)!
When princess Uthara came solely to you for refuge
You indeed protected the child in her womb with your discus!
During the needful moments
The true (Only!) resort for us is Premika Varadan
Muralidhara’s Lord!

The Paduka
Sriman Nigamantha Desikan, a great Vaishnava Saint lived from
mid-thirteenth to mid-fourteenth century- 1268-1369. Of the innumerable
'Granthas' (texts) written by Him
the highly revered and considered as the most extraordinary piece is His
"Paduka Sahasram" - a thousand verses on the 'Paduka' of Lord Ranganatha.
The Saint has in all composed 1008 verses, the last eight apologizing
in all humility for daring to compose these 1000 verses on the Paduka!
Sri Desikan's contemporary Sri Appayya Dikshitar had written a
commentary on the "Paduka Sahasram" but unfortunately it has been lost.

Oh! Paaduke!
When all at once separated from You and Rama,
The young maidens of Saketa City
Suffered, shedding tears
However,
Your return to Ayodhya
Like the sudden arrival of the autumn
Has absolved them of their sufferings!
