The sons of Rishabha Yogi - Kavi, Hari, Anthariksha, Prabuddha, Pippalãyana, Ãvirhotra, Drumila, Chamsa and Karabhãjana (also called as Navayogis) - who were great devotees, at the sacrifice conducted by the King Nimi -

Sage Chamasa continued, “They perversely interpret the Veda as a means for the satisfaction of their sensuous desires. In this world all are instinctively prone to sexual indulgence, meat eating and alcoholic drinks. No vedic commandments are required to prompt them in such indulgences. Statements found in veda related to these subjects is but mere permission given to regulate and control these desires with a view to eliminate them gradually. Such are the permission to marry and have union with one’s wife, take meat offered in Yajna (sacrifice) and drink at the Sautramani sacrifice. The sole purpose of acquiring wealth is to enable that way of righteous living by which one gains knowledge and enlightenment which bring about immediate peace. But Alas! Man spends it only for maintaining his family and for other worldly purposes. Amidst his worldly activities, he fails to perceive the inevitability of death. In Soutramani Yaaga, only smelling of liquor is allowed and not drinking. Similarly in Yagna only killing of animals according to the prescribed procedures are allowed and not practice of cruelty for purposes of eating. So also sexual intercourse is allowed for the householders to beget an offspring and not for unrestricted indulgence. These evil men are ignorant of Swadharma (sacred duty) inculcated by the Veda. Degradation and downfall are the fate of such people. The same is the fate of those who restlessly pursue the three worldly values, without having attained enlightenment on one hand and on the other have crossed the gross animal – like state of ignorance. These restless people destroy their own spiritual potentialities through their mistaken notion that vedic ritualism is the pinnacle of wisdom and are drowned in sorrow when they fail to achieve their ends in life. People who are absolutely alien to devotion for Vasudeva, find themselves ultimately forced by time to abandon their hard earned wealth, house, friends and children and are thrown into regions of darkness much against their wish."
