Swamigal Speaks

“How is it that even the highly educated and those holding high offices embrace wrong people as the Guru?”

Sri Swamiji:

“The people that you speak of may be great in worldly learning and holding high offices in worldly affairs. But, they do not possess even the basic knowledge of spirituality, the attributes of a real Jnãni and what is to be attained. The reason for this is that these people who are great in worldly knowledge are a mere zero in spiritual knowledge!”

“Is it possible for a Mahatma to speak to another without the usage of a telephone?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Yes! It is possible! A Yogi can, even without knowing the telephone number of a person and without any instrument, speak to him over the telephone! Communication instruments such as telephone are only those that had been used by our Maharshis!”

“Is playing the Veena a Moksha sãdhana (spiritual practice for the attainment of Liberation)?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Yes! Playing the Veena is also a Moksha sãdhana. The Veena derives its shape only from the figure of a Man - his rear (‘brishtam’), spinal cord, neck and head. If the Veena is played in the right manner it would lead one in the Yogic path.”

“Would not Man be grateful to God if only God would make all His work (Blessings) conspicuous?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Does not parents, particularly the mother, take tremendous pain to bring up the child? But, does not the grown up son not only look down upon his parents but also show animosity towards them? Generally, man is selfish; self-centred; therefore, this would not hold well with him. God’s Blessings can certainly be comprehended by those who really wish to.”
