The sons of Rishabha Yogi - Kavi, Hari, Anthariksha, Prabuddha, Pippalãyana, Ãvirhotra, Drumila, Chamsa and Karabhãjana (also called as Navayogis) - who were great devotees, at the sacrifice conducted by the King Nimi -

“I see you as verily the devotees of Lord Sri Vishnu. Rare indeed is human birth. Having taken a human birth it is still not easy to obtain the vision of great Saints like you. O Saints! If a man chances to get the company of Holy Saints like you even for a fraction of a second, he has indeed obtained an invaluable treasure. Pray! Reveal to me the path of Bhãgavata Dharma which pleases the Lord!” Perceiving the people in the hall eager to hear about the Bhãgavata Dharma, the ‘NavaYogis’ started to speak.

The first to speak was Kavi. He said, “For a man who is caught in the whirlpool of transmigration (‘Samsara’) and is ever haunted by fear, contemplation of the Holy Feet of Lord Achyuta is the only resort. It cuts asunder all the snares and fears of the world! Know that the path shown by Lord Hari Himself, for the sake of enlightening even the downtrodden ones, is called Bhãgavata Dharma. There is no fall for the man who follows this path of Bhãgavata Dharma. Just as a man who has someone to protect him walks fearlessly, even so a man can follow the Bhãgavata Dharma blindly. For, Lord Hari protects him!

Offer all that is done by your body, mind, words, senses, intellect and nature to Lord Narayana. Let all you do be for His sake. A man devoid of devotion, bound by the cords of Lord’s Powerful Maya, considers the body to be the Soul (‘Atma’). Thus, pulled by the senses he enjoys worldly pleasures and is subject to sorrow and fear. So an intelligent man should know his Guru to be the Soul and Lord and be absolutely devoted to Him.”
