Swamigal Speaks

<Prev |  Next>

“While God Himself desires ‘stuti’ (sing/speak in praise of) why should not men also desire ‘stuti’? Why then should we not make ‘stuti’ on humans?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Since amongst men an atheist may turn into a believer and a believer might turn into an atheist; a charitable man might turn into a miser; a poor might become rich and a rich man might become poor, we may, at a later date, regret having praised a man! But, as Bhagavãn is ever filled with ‘kalyana guna’ (auspicious attributes) HE is the only One who deserves ‘stuti’.”

“It is said that the Vedas is the ‘pramãna’ (base) even for Bhagavãn. How is that?”

Sri Swamiji:

“When Bhagavãn creates the world after every ‘pralaya’ (the great Cosmic dissolution), He feels worried, “Oh! The creation should be on the lines of the Vedas!” From this we can know that the Vedas is the ‘pramãna’ even for Bhagavãn.”

“What should be done to attain ‘vãk siddhi’ (clairvoyance)?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Clairvoyance comes about by reading Srimad Valmiki Ramayana. Srimad Valmiki Ramayana is a ‘Granta’ that bestows clairvoyance.”

“What should be done to earn Bhakti in ‘Gopi Bhãva’?”

Sri Swamiji:

“Just as there is a mantra to earn money and a mantra for being cured of diseases, to attain ‘Prema Bhakti’ it will suffice if one would keep chanting ‘Radhe! Radhe!’ This mantra will certainly bestow ‘Gopi bhãva’ and ‘Prema Bhakti’ towards Sri Krishna.”

“All those who are in a Satsang do not seem to be Sadhus, being described by You in ‘upanyãs’.”

Sri Swamiji:

“If they were so (Sadhus) why should we speak on such matters repeatedly? It is only because they are not so we speak these matters over and over again. This is not a matter to be attained in one day! It comes about only gradually.”
