Nityananda and Haridasa came to the place where Jagayi and Madhayi resided. There were some friends too along with Jagayi and Madhayi. When both these saints came singing fearlessly, Jagayi and Madhayi were lazily seated on a cot in a drunken state. With reddened eyes, they asked the saints who were singing in front of them – ‘who are you? What do you want?”

Nityananda sang in a sweet tone –

"Krishna kaho Krishna bajo Krishna nãm Krishna mãta Krishna pita Krishna dhan prãn” – “Lord Krishna is our mother, father, wealth and life. Chant his name.”

And said – “We are beggar saints (Bhikshu) and have come begging for alms. We plead you to chant the sweet Names of the Lord –

“Sri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare Hey! Natha Narayana Vasudeva”.

This is the alms that you can give us.

Upon hearing this, Jagayi and Madhayi were red with anger and rising from their seats, began to pounce upon them ordering their attendants – “Who is there! Bind these two fools!” Nityananda began to run. Haridasa too ran behind him panting with his stout body. The attendants guessed that these two ruffians were blabbering due to intoxication and felt sorry for the sadhus. They felt there was no benefit in capturing them and returned after following them for a while.

Poor Haridasa! He kept turning back often to Nityananda – “Look here sir! My pain is taking my life out! You are holding my hand so tightly and running fast! Nobody is following us! I feel my life is leaving me! Please let go off my hand!”

Nityananda said – “Let us run up to that next pool of water”. Haridasa fell down saying – “I can bear it no more”. Further he added – “Your mischievous nature is intolerable.”

Thus, involved in a loving fight they reached Prabhu. Prabhu welcomed them with a smile and said – “Here! The leaders of our Prachara Mandala (Association for propagating the Nãma) have arrived. Everyone may listen to the details of their Nãma Prachãra.
