Script from Scriptures (35) The sons of Rishabha Yogi - Kavi, Hari, Anthariksha, Prabuddha, Pippalãyana, Ãvirhotra, Drumila, Chamsa and Karabhãjana (also called as Navayogis) - who were great devotees, at the sacrifice conducted by the King Nimi - King Nimi next addressed Prabuddha, Oh! The Supreme among Rishis! Please reveal to us the way by which even those who have attachment to their body and have not conquered their senses can get over this Maya of the Lord! Prabuddha said, Oh King! Nothing is permanent in this world. Being so, how can one derive eternal happiness from transient things like house, wife, money etc? One should understand that even the heavenly realms that one attains due to ones Karma are impermanent. Even a great king suffers caught in the mire of jealousy, fear etc. Knowing the world to be filled with miseries, one should attempt to give up attachment one has towards his body. In order to attain knowledge of the Self, one should approach a Guru and knowing Him to be none other than the Self or the Lord, one should serve Him with devotion and love. He should learn the path of Bhãgavata Dharma from Him. He should give up attachment to the object of the senses and cultivate attachment to Sadhus (Holy Company). While moving about in the world he should show compassion towards the lowly, friendship towards his equals and humility towards elders. ...To be continued
