Discourse on “Bhakta Charitra” (7 p.m. - 9 p.m.)

H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji discoursed on various Bhaktas for seven evenings. On 10th instant Ãshãda Ekãdasi evening, H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji discoursed on the glory of Pandaripur and Pandaripura Bhaktãs. On the last day H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji discoursed on the life history of Ãndal. An idol of Krishna and Ãndãl dressed gorgeously in silk were placed on the stage. A big wonderful flower umbrella of jasmine and kanakambaram hung high over their heads. On this last evening of the five-day ‘upanyas’ H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji blessed all devotees with kumkum prasad. Every evening after the ‘upanyas’ the Temple authorities distributed prasad to all devotees.

Kumbabhishekham of Sri Ãvudaiyãr Temple Yogeeswara Sri Ramakrishna Hamsendra Swami Adhishtãna

The Ashtabandana kumbãbhishekha of the Adhishtãna of Yogeeswara Sri Ramakrishna Hamsendra Swami was performed in the Presence of H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji.

10th July, 2003 (Ãshãda Ekãdasi) His Holiness Sri Sri Swamiji performed abhishekha to Premika Varadan-Mãdhuri Sakhi at Madhurapuri ashram. Divya Namakirtan was performed at Premika Bhavanam from 9.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. Followed by dolotsav at 11.45 p.m. Abangs of the great Bhaktãs of Panduranga were sung with Bhakti bhãva by Sumant, the Satsang Bhagavata, along with others.

GURU POORNIMA (13th July, 2003)
9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

A day of gratitude to Guru, all devotees paid their respects to His Holiness Sri Sri Swamiji at Madhurapuri Ashram. It was the day of Yajur Upakarma, too. The change of the Holy thread was performed at Premika Bhavanam between 6.30 and 7.30 a.m.
“Our Sanatana Dharma has no founder nor does it have any man-written Holy Text. Vedas that is ‘anãdi’ (without any beginning - ever existent) is verily our Holy Text. The Vedas is but the breath of the Lord. The Vedas is verily the Lord. Our great Religion has the Vedas as the base. This Vedas was grasped (from space) and offered to us by Sage Veda Vyasa, an ‘amsa’ of the Lord. Veda Vyasa has also given us the great Epics. Thus, Veda Vyasa is considered our Guru. So, on this day of Guru Poornima all, irrespective of the School to which they belong - Advaita, Visishtadwaita, Dwaita - perform Vyasa puja. It is reverence shown to the great Sage.

The four months following this day of Guru Poornima is considered very auspicious, whence any spiritual sadhana performed bestows multifold ‘phala’ (fruit). Sanyasins stay in one place to do ‘tapas’.”

H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji arrived at Madhurapuri Ashram around 9.30 a.m. Vyasa puja was performed at the New Hall (Sant Ekanath Hall), Madhurapuri Ahsram, by Sri Mallikarjuna Sarma, Mukhya Adhyapak of our Sri Sandeepani Gurukulam. All the Veda Patasala students participated in it. H. H. Sri Sri Swamiji performed abhishekha to Sri Maha Periyava’s Paduka and archana to Sri Maha Periyava’s Paduka and Premika Varadan-Madhuri Sakhi. H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji then blessed all the devotees with ‘teerta prasad’. The whole hall was filled with devotees from the various parts of the country.

H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji then joined the Vyasa puja at the New Hall (Sant Ekanath Hall). After the puja, H. H. Sri Sri Swamiji blessed all the devotees with ‘akshadai’.

This was followed by Pãda puja to His Holiness Sri Sri Swamiji - first by Sri Sankaran of Bangalore and then by Sri Kalyana Krishnan of Chennai.

Wearing a new broad green and red mixed bordered dhoti-angavastra His Holiness Sri Swamiji’s neck adorned innumerable garlands of jasmine, Tulasi, Lotus, Kadamba, offered by devotees.

Yogiramsuratkumar Ashram, Tiruvannamalai, Tamizh Nadu

His Holiness Sri Sri Swamiji rendered ‘upanyas’ on Guru Bhakti at Yogiramsuratkumar Ashram, Tiruvannamalai.

At the outset Sri Arunachalam gave the welcome address and mentioned an incident from the life of Yogiramsuratkumar.

H. H. Sri Sri Swamiji in His ‘upanyãs’ recalled various anecdotes from the life of Sri Maha Periyava. H.H. Sri Sri Swamiji spoke on the glory of Guru’s Paduka.
