Chaitanya Mahãprabhu (32) Those who are caught in the clutches of Maya are incapable of withstanding the vision of the radiant form of the Lord for a long time. One can engage in loving relationship with the Lord. But even the gods are unable to withstand the splendor of the Lord’s Form for a long period of time. The day thus passed and night too came to a close, but the ecstasy of Prabhu did not subside. The devotees forgot about their food or sleep and the next day also dawned. Advaitãchãrya noticed that the devotees were a bit frightened. Realising that the devotees were unable to withstand the splendor he said to Srivas Pundit, “ Ordinary mortals like us cannot stand Prabhu’s radiance for a long time. We must do something to bring Prabhu out of this Bhava”. Srivas too said, “ That’s true! The form of Gaur (Nitayi) is indeed dearer to us than this form of the Lord! Let us pray to MahaPrabhu.” Everybody acknowledged Srivas Pandit's idea. All of them praised the Lord in one voice and said, “Oh! Prabhu! Conceal your Divine Form! We will be burnt by its splendor. We no longer possess the strength to withstand it. Pray gladden us by showing your lovely form of Gaur!” And Lo! Prabhu made a loud noise and said, “ Alright! If it is so, I shall go away!” Saying thus Prabhu fell down unconscious. To be continued...
