April News from Sydney:

• 6th April 2002 - 6:00pm - 7:45pm

  Satsang members sang bhajans and performed Nãma Sankirtan at Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Auburn, Sydney. About 60 people participated in the Nãma Sankirtan.

  • 6:00pm-6:45pm - Bhajan

    The program started with the bhajan “Rama Nãma Tarakam Sadã Bhajo Re” led by Master Ashwin Bhaskar, then Smt Jayashree Ramakrishnan led the group with the following bhajans:

  • 6:45pm - 7:45pm - After the bhajans, Satsang members performed Nãma Sankirtan. Devotees who came to the temple that evening participated very enthusiastically in the Nãma Sankirtan and after the program enquired about our Satsang’s activities.

  • 7:45 pm - The temple priest did Mangala Harathi and Prasad was distributed to the devotees.

  21st April 2002 - 6:00pm - 7:45pm

  Satsang members celebrated Sri Rama Navami festival at Smt and Sri Rajagopal’s residence.

  Rama Nãma Competition for children was announced in the previous month’s Nãma Sankirtan. We told the children that who ever writes the highest number of Nãma will be given a prize. As soon the competition was announced, Monika Reddy jumped up saying, “I will start writing from today and will get the first prize” and she really MADE IT HAPPEN.

  The very next day little Sitara Ramakrishnan and Maduram Sekar rang to inform that they have started writing the Nãma and were curious to know how many pages other children have completed. It was great to see the enthusiasm with which the children participated in the competition.

  • 2:30pm - 2:45pm - Distribution of Prizes

    Children were so eagerly waiting for the “Rama Day” ( the way they used to say ) and atlast the suspense was broken and the winners were announced. First prize was awarded to Monika Reddy, Second prize was shared between Madhuram Sekar and Rohan Reddy.

    Prizes were given to all the children and the first and second prize winners were duly recognised with additional cash award.

  • 4:45pm Sri Rajagopal did Mangala Harathi and Smt Pushpa Rajagopal served Prasadam.
