  2. Gopãshtami - Srimad Bhãgavata Saptãhãm
    6th November, 2002 - 12th November 2002

    Gopãshtami is the auspicious day which marks Sri Krishna’s Govardhana Uddhãrana lila(the day when Sri Krishna protected his beloved Gopãs of Vrindãvan by lifting the Govardhana Giri). As ordained by Sri Swamiji, Srimad Bhãgavata saptãhãm was performed in connection with Gopãshtami celebrations at Sri Sankaran's residence in K.K.Nagar, Chennai from 6th November to 12th November 2002. Ashtapati Bhajan, led by Sri Yagnarama Sarma and Sri Sumanth Bhãgavata, was performed from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Radha Kalyãnam was performed on 10th November 2002.


  3. 12th November 2002, Ambur

    Sri Swamiji visited Ambur near Vellore, on the 12 th of November, 2002. Sri Swamiji discoursed on "Hindu Religion" to about 5000 students at the Hindu Senior School. Sri Swamiji also rendered discourse on "Rama Bhakti" at the Anjaneyar Temple and also discoursed at the Sri Naaganaatha temple.


  4. Ekãdasi at Mathurapuri Ashram
    15th November, 2002

    9:00 A.M - 11.30 A.M : Sri Swamiji performed Ekãdasi thirumanjanam and puja to Sri Premika Varadan - Madhuri Sakhi at the ashram and blessed all with teertha prasad.


  5. Tulasi Kalyãnam - Utthãna Dwãdasi
    16th November, 2002 - Premika Bhavanam

    Tulasi Kalyanam was celebrated at Premika Bhavanam on Utthãna Dwãdasi the 16th November, 2002. A Tulasi mãdam with a beautifully decorated Tulasi Devi was placed in front of the Sri Srinivasa Perumal sannadhi and lamps were lit all around. Sri Swamiji placed a vigraha(idol) of Sri Krishna near Tulasi Devi.

    Sri Swamiji led the sampradãya bhajan which began with “Thodayamangalam” and was followed by the Guru kirtan - “Vijayi bhava tu Gurunathah”.

    The ladies then performed Divyanãma sankirtan for more than 30 minutes. Kalyana ashtapati was sung and Tulsi kalyanam was performed after the Divya nãma sankirtan. Following this, Sri Swamiji’s kirtans on Tulasi Devi viz.
    “ Jaya Jaya Tulasi! Jaya vraja vãsini!
    Sri Krishna charana priya dãsi!”

    durita dukkha nivãrinni! Hari bhakta jana pãlini!
    dãridrya vinãsini! parimala suganda soubhãgya Devi!


    Rukmini Radha Pujita Tulasi!

    priya jana pãlini poshinni Tulasi!
    tvãm pranamãmi haripriya Tulasi!


    were sung. Prasad was distributed to all those gathered.

  6. 17th November, 2002 - Premika Bhavanam

    About a dozen youth from the villages covered by our Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nãma Bhiksha Kendra volunteers were in Premika Bhavanam. From 3.00 to 4.15 p.m. they performed Divya Nãmasankirtan of

    'Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare!
    Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare!'

    They then sang Sri Swamiji's kirtan, 'Kannan engal mannavan sarva loka nãyakan'. Following this, Sri Swamiji asked Sri Ravi and Sri Perumal Balaji to sing the first verse of Tiruppãvai, 'Mãrgazhi thingal' and asked the village youths to repeat. Then Sri Swamiji Himself taught them Periãzhwãr's 'Pallãndu! Pallãndu! Pallãyirathãndu! Palakodinoorãyiram!' Sri Swamiji then asked Sri Srikant (an upcoming Bhãgavata) to teach them 'Neela mega shyãmal roopa Gopala!' The Youth were then taken for an early dinner. They returned around 7.00 p.m. All the devotees including the young visiting devotees chanted the Maha Mantra

    The whole Premika Bhavanam vibrated with the Maha Mantra. Suddenly Sri Swamiji put up His right palm in a gesture to stop. Sri Swamiji chanted the Maha Mantra and began, "Each God is worshipped in a different manner........" Click here for the detailed discourse.


  7. Vishnu Deepam, Premika Bhavanam
    20th November, 2002

    On Vishnu Deepam, lamps were lit and placed all around Premika Bhavanam in the evening. Divya nãma sankeertanam, led by Sri Sumanth Bhãgavata, was performed.


  8. 27th November, 2002

    Srimathi Vedavalli popularly called as "Aandaal Maami" discoursed on " Glory of Govinda Nama" at Premika Bhavanam from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
