At the behest of Sri Swamiji the renovation and samprokshanam of
Sri Ramachandra Tirtha Brindavanam, Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple,
Sri Pasupathishwaraswamy temple and Sri Nellikani Vinayakar temple
at Mela cauvery, Kumbakonam were done by Sri G. K. Ramamurthy on
June 27th, 2002 at 5.30 am to 6.00 am.
Yãgasala proceedings began on June 24th, 2002 and concluded with
Poorna Ãhuti on
the mahãsamprokshanam day in the august presence of Sri Ammalu Ammal.
In the evening, the Utsav Murthy was taken in procession.

Satsang with Sri Shãntãnanda Puri at Premika Bhavanam

Sri Shãntãnanda Puri is a ‘parivrãjaka’ sanyasi (ascetic who keeps moving). He is the
disciple of Swami Purushotamanandaji Maharaj of Vasishta Guha, Himalayas, who is the disciple
of Swami Brahmananda (the great disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa).
Born in 1928, Sri Shãntãnanda Puri yearned for ascetic life since his younger days. He is known
for his simplicity and deep faith in Bhagavan; he is full of jnana and ‘vairagya’ (dispassion). His knowledge in
Vedic scriptures and Holy Texts like Srimad Bhagavatam is very deep. His elucidation of Bhagavad Gita, Yoga
Vasishta and Ashtravakra Gita have attracted the spiritually thirsty. He has written commentary on Siva Sahasranama
(Linga Purana). Ramanasramam has brought out an audiocassette of the Swami’s ‘Ramana Suprabhãtham’.
Guru in his own right, Sri Shãntãnanda Puri performs Bhãgavata upanyasa in English, Hindi and
Tamizh. He has authored Sri Bhãgavatam - its message for the modern man; Sadhanas in Bhagavad gita; Fragrant
flowers; The quantum leap into absolute.
Sri Shãntãnanda Puri puri was received with ‘poorna kumbham’ in Premika Bhavanam, by
Sri Mallikarjuna Sarma (Mukhya Adhyãpak of our Mission’s Veda Patasala) and his ‘vidyãrtis’.

Sri Shãntãnada Puri Maharaj visited our ashram the next morning. Sri Balaji and Sri Mruthyunjaya Sarma welcomed the Swami on behalf of our mission. Sri Shãntãnanda Puri Maharaj explained the “Greatness of the Vedas and Vedic education” to our Veda patasala vidyarthis. He then performed puja to Madhuri Sakhi sametha Sri Premika Varadan and offered thirtha prasad to all.

In the presence of Guru Maharaj, Vyãsa puja was performed by Sri Mallikãrjuna Sarma,
Mukhya Adhyãpak of our Mission’s Sandeepani Gurukulam.
Raghavendra Sarma, Pavan kumar, Bhuvanasundar, Tattvamasi, Venkataraman, Sivaraman,
Hariharasubramanian (Yajur Veda) and Navin Bhatt, Kaushik Bhatt and Yogesh Bhatt (Sãma Veda)
chanted from the Vedas. Students of the Sankara Mutt Veda Patasala also participated.
Sri Jambunatha Ghanapãdigal and Sri Senthilnãtha Ghanapãdigal were amongst the several Vedic
Scholars who participated in the Vyãsa puja.
This was followed by Vidwat Sadas. On behalf of our Mission, Sri Mallikãrjuna Sarma, Mukhya
Adyãpak of our Mission’s Sandeepani Gurukulam, honoured
Sri Seshadrinatha Shastrigal and other participants with a shawl and sambhavanai.
Sri Mallikarjuna Sarma, Mukhya Adhyapak, Sandeepani Gurukulam, spoke a few words on the importance
of Vyãsa puja and expressed our Guru Maharaj’s happiness in the visit of such learned and humble Vedic Scholars.

On 27th July, 2002, Sri Swamiji participated in a special function in the Pillaiyãr temple, 5th Main Road,
Malleswaram. A garland made of 108 gold coins was offered to Lord Ganesha in the Presence of Sri Swamiji.

Sri Ammãlu ammãl visited the Sri Kalyana Srinivasa Perumal Temple in our Mathurapuri Ashram.
No sooner had She sat than a kirtan (in Kannada) on our
‘Kalyana’ Srinivasa Perumal began to pour forth from Her lips!
Sri Swamiji then requested Sri Ammălu Ammal to bless the Veda Patasala students and all
others present with sugar candy. She blessed all
present with sugar candy.
Sri Swamiji then took Her to ‘Kalyana’ Srinivasa Perumal temple. Sri Swamiji and Sri Ammălu ammal
sat inside the ‘Garba graha’ (sanctum
sanctorum) while Her two attendants and the Veda Patasala boys sat in the corridor
just outside the ‘garba graha’.
Sri Ammalu ammal, accompanied by Ms. Srimati and Ms. Radhika at first sang one of
her earlier kirtans on Srinivasa Perumal. At Sri
Swamiji’s request they then sang few other Ammalu ammal’s kirtans. As they were
singing on Govinda, a new kirtan on Krishna began to
pour forth from Sri Ammalu ammal.
