1. Yatha hyekena chakrenna na rathasya gatirbhavet |
Tatha purushakãrenna vinã daivam na sidhayati ||

Dame luck cannot bestow Success without Man’s effort,
Just as a single wheel does not run the chariot!

2. Na daivamiti sanjchintya tyajeddhyogamãtmanah |
Anudhyogena tailãni tilemyo nãptumarhati ||

Give up not the effort trusting dame luck alone, for, without effort the oil in ‘til’ is not acquired!

3.Udhyamena hi sidhayanti kãryãnni na manorataih |
Na hi suptasya simhasya pravishanti mukhe mrugãh ||

Success is born of effort only and not of ‘desire’ alone
Just as, the prey does not fall into the mouth of a sleeping lion!
