Swamigal Speaks...

Due to my desire to involve myself in Japa-dhyãna I wish to remain simple and avoid wearing jewels. I wear only a Tulasi mãla. But some point out that this is not the right attitude. Could You please clarify?

Sri Swamigal:

Jewels for ladies is not for grandiose but are auspicious signs. It bestows ‘sowmangalya’ ( propitious) to women. It is not wrong to wear jewels. Wearing the required (amount of) jewels will not affect japa and dhyãna in anyway.

Bhagavãn Sri Ramakrishna accepts all - Adwaita, Dwaita and Visishta dwaita - as right paths. How can it be so?

Sri Swamigal:

By this Sri Ramakrishna only means that in the path of attaining Adwaita, both Visishta dwaita and Dwaita are right. (one passes through these paths to attain the state of Adwaita)

A person tells me that the form of the Lord appeared in a Salagrama? Is this possible?

Sri Swamigal:

Yes, it is possible. I have also heard about it and also seen the same!

Why do many a Mahãn undergo sufferings, particularly physical sufferings, in their last days?

Sri Swamigal:

Many devotees seek the Mahãns. The Mahãns take over the sins of all these devotees. It is because of this that they undergo such untold miseries.
