Aishwaryasya vibhushanam sujanata, shouryasya vãkyasamyamo,
    Jnãnasyopashamah shrutasya vinayo, vintasya pãtre vyayah |
Akrodhastapasah shamã prabhavitur dharmasya nivryãjatã
    Sarveshãmapi sarvakãranamidam sheelam param bhushanam ||

Good nature is the ornament of prosperity,
Control over speech, the ornament of valour
Restraint from sensual pleasure, the ornament of knowledge
Humility,. the ornament of learning
Charity, the ornament of wealth
Freedom from anger, the ornament of penance
Forgiveness, the ornament of power
Absence of hyprocricy, the ornament of religious observances
But
Good character, the root of all the above is the ornament of everything!

Manasi vachasi kãye punyapeeyooshapoornã
    Stribhuvanamupakãrasrenibhih preenayantah |
Paragunaparamãpoon parvatiikrutya nityam
    Nijahrudi vikãsantah santi santah kiyantah||

There are very few virtuous persons,
who, full of nector of holiness in mind, speech and body
benefit the three worlds.
With their act of benevolence ever rejoice in their hearts
in greatly magnifying the small virtues of others.
