‘Ãchãrya Nishta’ of Mannakãlnambi !
We apologise for the mistake occurred inadvertently in the last issue depicting the Ãcharya bhakti of Manakãlnambi. We publish the corrected one in this issue.
Amongst Vaishnava Ãchãryãs, Sri Nãdamuni holds a very important place. Uyyakkondãn was a direct disciple of Nãdamuni. Uyyakkondãn had a disciple by name Mannakãlnnambi. Uyyakkondãn had little daughters. Mannakãlnambi used to accompany these little children of his Guru to Cauvery for their bath. Walking out of the waters, the little ones used to complain to him, “Mãma! (Uncle) it is very slushy here!” Immediately, he would lie down across the slush and let the little ones walk over his back! Mannakãlnambi considered not only the touch of the Lotus Feet of his Guru a fortune but also the touch of the feet of his Guru’s children!
