The long procession wound through the narrow ‘galis’ (lanes) of Vrindavan. The ‘vraja vãsiis’ lined up on both sides with folded hands, bhakti spilling eyes and drinking in the beauty of the Lord. In the bazaar lane, a shopkeeper cut through the procession line and garlanded Sri Swamigal. The windows on the first and second floor of the closely set houses opened out quickly as the sound of “Radhe Shyam! Radhe Shyam!” reached them. Ladies - young and old and little girls looked out with glee on their faces -- The scene of Krishna’s return to Mathura from Vrindavan! The scene of Sri Rama’s return to Ayodhya after 14years of exile in the forest! In all, it took three hours to return to Raghunath Ashram with the ‘Lordly’ groom! 11.00 p.m. Day closed with Dolotsava.
