Srimad Bhagavatam --- “Pushkare Mathurãyãm cha Dwãravatyãm yatãtmavãn” ----- Conducting a Bhãgavata Saptãham in Pushkar, Dwaraka and Mathura is very auspicious. "The soil of Mathura bears the imprint of not only the birth of Bhagavãn but also of Srimad Bhãgavatam! Bhoopa Deva was blessed with the ‘lost’ Bhãgavatam by Shuka Deva here on this very soil where we are performing the Bhãgavata Saptãha Shatakratu!" ------- Sri Swamigal in His Valedictory address on 24th March, 2001 "RADHE! RADHE!" - the sound and fragrance of “Radhe” filling the holy soil of Vrindãvan was for seven days sprayed with the aroma of Srimad Bhãgavatam! The 108 Bhãgavatas had all gathered on the 18th March, 2001 in full enthusiasm to ‘drink in’ Srimad Bhãgavatam - ‘pibata Bhãgavatam rasamãlayam!’ And so were the nearly 800 and odd devotees! The ‘Vraja vãsiis’ (the locals) were not to be out beaten - they joined to ‘drink’ it all up as the ‘Sapthãha’ progressed.
Sri Raghunath Ashram, adjacent to Kãthyãyani Mandir, is a huge marble complex with a beautiful garden of roses. It is encircled on two sides (rear and to its right) by the large garden of the Kãthyãyini Mandir, a home of peacocks and innumerable variety of birds. The doors of this Ashram open out on to a huge ‘maidan’. Close at hand and opening out on to this ‘maidan’ is the massive garden of Rangaji Mandir housing the ‘utsav mandap’. This is a home of several peacocks sporting extraordinarily long feathers. All Bhãgavatas, more than 130, and the devotees were housed in this aesthetically beautiful surrounding.
Radha-Krishna, Rãsa Lila and the adorable baby Krishna adorned the stage walls. In front of them, on the platform were Radha-Krishna and Divya Nãma Krishna awaiting the Kalasa sthãpana and commencement of Srimad Bhãgavata Pãrayana. The ‘pandal’ carried pictures depicting the different Lilas of Krishna.
