Swamigal, You say that only a saint understands another saint. But even a crow, Lakshmi the cow and Jackie the dog had understood Sri Ramana Maharshi. Shyam Sunder, the horse was devoted to Shirdi Saibaba and a buffalo was devoted to the saint, Gnaneshwar. So, how can one accept this concept that only a saint understand another saint?

It is not necessary that a saint has to be in human form. Puranas say that Gajendran, the elephant had surrendered to the Lord. In kalahasti, a spider conducted pooja to Lord Siva and He was worshipped by a crab in Tiruvisanallur, an elephant in Tiruvanaikaaval and by an ant in Tiruverumbur. In recent years devotion of Kesavan, the elephant towards Sri Guruvayurappan is well-known. So saints do exist in animal form, too.

Many people lead a secure life even without a Guru? This makes me wonder about the real need for a Guru.

There are wealthy people in this world. There are also those who are poor. Even these poor people do get some food, clothing and a place to live in. Yet does not everybody feel that to be wealthy is to live in comfort? An educated and an illiterate, too, live in this world. But then can one question about the need for education? Likewise, a Guru's actions in removing one's ego, pride and sins may seem to create problems. Each and every action of the Guru carries a deep meaning and is meant only to elevate us. Hence, it is only but joyful to live in the shelter of a Guru.

I believe that the caste system was established by man. Would Swamigal give his opinion regarding this?

This is not so. This is only but natural. For example, though all dogs would fall under a single biological group they are classified into various species, such as, Alsatian, Doberman, German Shepherd, Pomeranian, Rajapalayam, etc. on the basis of certain inherent qualities. Some of them are used as sniff dogs while others for hunting. So, I feel that this caste system is an innate phenomenon.

Swamigal, I have this long cherished desire to establish a casteless society wherein true human bondage would bloom?

Ironically, the political parties and organizations which talk of a casteless society are the ones that are deepening the divide. Let's take in their view that it is the caste system that divides the society and it should be abolished as all are equal at/by birth. But then geographical differences or differences on the basis of languages, such as, Tamilians, Malayalis, Telugus, Kannadigas, etc. will be born. And each will try to outwit the other by calling themselves superior. Or fight over religious differences.

Only the realization of the fact that all of us are children of One God will bring about true human bondage.
