Question:
When narrating the history of Mahatmas why are the
favourable incidents quoted and not the vice versa?

Swamigal:
The tradition is to quote only good things about
Mahatmas and elders. Unpleasant incidents happen
everywhere in the world. There is no use talking about
it. Even though such incidents took place in
the Sannidhans of Mahatmas, the point to be observed
is, the way the Mahans reacted towards all those things.

Question:
Guruji, You do Japam incessantly. You perform only
good deeds. Even then you had to face some
unfortunate incidents like accidents and theft. Some
people are even trying to harm You. Why?
Swamigal:
We all know that Meera was a great devotee. Even
though she could talk to God she had to undergo
a lot of miseries. Does that mean that Meera did not
have Bhakthi?
What is worse for a woman than discrediting
her virtue? Meera had to undergo that also.
Hence, there is no relation between
Bhakthi and problems.

Swamigal:
It is true. If that is what your Bhakthi
seeks, then that will be granted. Great Mahatmas
like Meera would never implore God to be freed from
petty worldly problems. The happy and unhappy events
in their lives were only in the wordly man's perspective.
They were in eternal bliss perpetually.

Question:
In my life, I am facing problems all the time.
How should I interpret this?
Swamigal:
The more problems you experience, the
closer you are to God. Only in those
circumstances, we are able to do Bhakthi wholeheartedly.
Life will lose its liveliness if there are no problems.
We have to thank God whenever we face problems. We should
have faith in God that everything happens for a good cause
that is not known to us.

Question:
My friend goes to many temples everyday. He does not listen
to me when I say that this is not essential. What am I
supposed to do?
Swamigal:
Why do you have to say that? Going to temple for worship
everyday is one type of Bhakthi. Reading the Scriptures daily,
doing Naama Kirtan daily, visiting Holy Places, offering
flowers to the temple regularly or devoting one's self to the service
of Sadhus are different ways to do Bhakthi. People
can indulge in any act of Bhakthi of their choice. We should not
disrespect any of those acts.

Question:
Are Yoga Prashtas born due to Karma?
Swamigal:
Yes. Yoga Prashatas are born due to Karma.
Question:
Are Avathara Purushas born due to Karma?
Swamigal:
No. Avathara Purushas are born due to their
own wish i.e. Sankalpam.
Question:
If that is so, then why are they affected by
worldly problems and diseases?
Swamigal:
This happens because many people worship
them, get Mantra Upadesam from them and surrender
their deeds to them. However, the worldly problems they
experience are only from the view point of a worldly person.

Question:
