The Meaning:

1. Smelling the fragrance of Tulsi on whose Holy Feet, even the enlightened Sanakas (Sanaka, Sanadana, Sanatsujata and Sanatkumara) get entranced, is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

2. Even Sankara who is known for burning down Panchabãna i.e. Manmatha, to ashes (burning all desires) is seduced by the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

3. After scrutinizing all the Shastras this Vasudeva who is declared by Vyasa as the ocean of compassion is the Supreme Being Vasudeva.

4. He who takes care of even Bhrgu, who meant to harm Him, as His own child is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

5. Chitraketu in spite of being cursed by Parvati, could accept it with a big smile, his Lord being the Supreme One VASUDEVA.

6. He who is praised, adored and revered by all the three Religious Faiths is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

7. Brahma is the creator (meaning Rajoguna leading to actions) and Sankara is the destroyer (leading to Tamas or inaction). (However) The protector of the entire universe (suddha sattva guna) is the only Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

8. He who protects even Brahma and Rudra who get into trouble by giving boons to demons, is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

9. Even while being prayed with hymns addressed in non-specific terms by Gajendra, He who alone came to the elephant's rescue is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

10. He who descended to this earth, renouncing even the comforts and luxuries of Vaikunta with the sole purpose of blessing this world is the Supreme Being VASUDEVA.

11. Whoever recites this ten-verse hymn, which enlightens (all) about who the Supreme Being is, which is dear to Muralidhara, is sure to attain true knowledge.
